I left a stressful job in 2005 and some of these  abstract paintings are an expression of the freedom I felt. The large physical paintings span the period between 2005-2007. In 2005 I started swimming almost daily at the iconic Crystal Palace Olympic pool. After my meditative swim (I use a yoga mantra in my head to still my thoughts, and to keep my front crawl fast and even), I would sit and draw in the spectators’ gallery, the colours and motifs in some of the works reflect this. More recent abstract paintings are influenced by my move to the sea side and my  relationship with the sea and landscape as a swimmer.
